Consistent with the resort’s Filipino ambience, the furniture and fixtures in all bedrooms were sourced from different parts of the Philippines. The closets are made of solihiya from Cebu; the night lamps are re purposed Mangyan baskets from Oriental Mindoro, the ceiling lamps are from Albay, and the Can-ayan banigs as wall art are from Bukidnon.
Perhaps one of the most interesting features of the resort is the striking triptych of the endemic frangipani or calachuchi blooms found at the reception area. It is an acrylic painting on canvas by Sofia Carballo, the resort owner’s sweet 12-year old daughter whose remarkable artistry has earned her a spot in the city’s roster of talents. Some of her smaller artworks are also on display in other parts of the resort.
